Kansas Marriage License Records Search Tips


Within the state of Kansas, all vital records are considered private records and are not easily accessible.  You can request certified copies to be issued to you if you are the appropriate individual. However, there will be a $12 issue fee plus shipping and handling.

If you are requesting the information by mail, keep in mind that once your payment has been cleared it will take additional 5-10 business days for you to receive the information. Always check current fees before you begin your request. These fees are subject to change without notice and you may find your request is returned to you.

If you prefer to request the information directly by going to the Office of Vital Statistics, the fees are the same and the wait time should be around twenty minutes, provided there are no difficulties in location the information.

Remember to bring all appropriate information concerning who you are, along with proof of identification and payment for the records. If you are a relative of someone you are researching information on, remember to provide a signed copy of who you are and include with it a notarized signature. Pictures IDs are necessary and no records will be released without showing this to an attendant.
