The Alabama Vital Records is accountable for all marriage license records. This office has records going back as early as August, 1936.
The search of public records has assisted genealogy and family history researchers, adoptees, legal aids, etc. Within the state of Alabama, most records are public; only birth records are considered confidential. You will need to fill out the appropriate form and pay the request fee.
If you are intended to seek information from other state, an extra charge will be levied to provide such information. Very rarely, a certified document is provided in such cases and only verifications are provided to the seeker. To obtain the verified information in this case, you are required to convey the name of the country.
The search fees for copies of all public records are prone to vary as do the requirements for certain records. Always keep handy a copy of your ID with a photograph. It is also necessary for you to have a signature on your ID. If you don’t, you should have a copy of your signature notarized to show. These fees are payable by money order and are non-refundable. If you wish to do an expedited search there is an additional fee.
