In Connecticut, the CT Department of Public Health is in charge of the State Office of Vital Records. This office is in charge of marriage records and licenses. Marriage licenses are filed at this office but both the marriage records and certificates are stored and given form these locations. They have multiple ways to send you the marriage records once you are married and have completed the marriage licensing process.

When visiting the office it is recommended to bring the following:
• If you are going for the first time to try and get a marriage license you will want to know your social security number of have your social security card with you
• You may want to have a copy of your birth certificate
• A Valid state Identification
• The amount of money that you may need for your copies (Each copy is ten dollars)
